Who we are

StoryVault AI is an iOS app published by Hypersage AI Labs. Contact: dmusk188@gmail.com.

The short version

What this app collects

1. Story content you create

When you start an AI Adventure, submit a choice, write a custom premise, or tap to have a tale read aloud, your input (the text and the prior turns of that adventure) is transmitted to our backend at storyvault-api.fly.dev. Our backend forwards it to an AI provider — OpenAI (our primary provider) or Anthropic (fallback) — to generate the next narrative segment, to OpenAI to generate an accompanying illustration, and to OpenAI's text-to-speech to produce narration audio. Neither we nor these providers use this input to train models. This input is not retained on our servers beyond the lifetime of the request (aside from any story you explicitly publish — see §4).

2. Account (optional)

You can browse, read, and play anonymously — the app works on first launch, subject to a daily usage cap. If you choose to Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google (to sync across devices, remove the anonymous cap, or publish to the Marketplace), we receive and store: the opaque user identifier from Apple or Google, your email address if the provider passes it to us (Apple's Hide My Email is supported), and an author display name you set. Our backend issues a session token tied to that account. Signing in is entirely optional and can be undone by signing out.

3. Purchase information

When you purchase StoryVault Pro, the App Store sends us a signed transaction (JWS). We forward it to our backend for verification and store no record of the purchase beyond the entitlement state required to unlock features. The App Store handles billing, refunds, and your Apple ID — we never see your payment method.

4. Stories you publish (opt-in)

If you choose to publish a story to the community Marketplace, the story text and your author display name are stored on our backend and, after an automated moderation check, made publicly visible to other users. This is entirely opt-in — nothing you write is shared unless you publish it. You can request removal of a published story at any time.

5. On-device storage

Your saved books, reading progress, adventure runs, custom premises, and unlocked achievements are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. iCloud Backup, if you have it enabled, includes them per your iOS device settings.

Analytics

StoryVault AI currently ships with no active analytics or tracking SDK. The app does not collect usage telemetry in this release. If we enable privacy-preserving, anonymous analytics in a future version, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy details before doing so.

What this app does not collect

Third parties

Children

StoryVault AI is rated 12+. The bundled library is public-domain literature, and the AI Adventure system prompt explicitly excludes explicit sexual content and child endangerment. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us at dmusk188@gmail.com.

Your rights

You can delete all on-device data by deleting the app. If you have an account, you can sign out at any time, and you can request deletion of your account, published stories, and any associated data by emailing dmusk188@gmail.com. You can revoke your Pro subscription via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have rights to access, correct, delete, and port your data. We do not sell your personal information. Contact us at dmusk188@gmail.com with any specific request.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date and post the new version at this page. Material changes will be announced via the App Store update notes.
